About The role

As the Team Leader - Clinician Assist WA, you, in collaboration with the Manager - Clinician Assist WA, will lead a multidisciplinary team within the Primary Care portfolio, guiding the delivery of the Clinician Assist WA program. You'll oversee daily operations, coach and support staff, and ensure program content is accurate, consistent, and aligned with strategic goals. Your role includes managing performance, driving continuous improvement, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and supporting management initiatives. You'll also contribute to promotional and educational activities to increase awareness and utilisation of Clinician Assist across the WA health system.

🔹 Location: WAPHA Head Office, Level 2, 1 Hood Street, Subiaco (Hybrid role)

🔹 Salary: Band 4 Salary: Band 5 ($110,465.31 Plus 12% Superannuation, depending on experience)
🔹 Employment Type: Full-time Maximum term contract (Parental Leave cover from 1.9.2025-23.10.2026 - 14 months)

Key tasks and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Clinician Assist WA team.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance support to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Approve timecards, expense claims, and leave requests.
  • Drive accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation including policies and procedures.
  • Support the implementation of business and operational plans aligned with program goals.
  • Monitor and ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of program content.
  • Identify and escalate care gaps, risks, issues, and incidents appropriately.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support program success.
  • Promote awareness and utilisation of Clinician Assist across the WA health system.
  • Support change management initiatives and help team members adapt to change.
  • Maintain accurate records and support reporting and analysis activities.
  • Oversee stakeholder engagement activities and maintain the engagement tracker.
  • Support the planning and delivery of educational and promotional activities.
  • Contribute to the development of program-related content for publications and events.

About you

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following selection criteria:

Essential experience and education

  • Tertiary qualification in health, human services, business management, leadership, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deliver outcomes in complex and challenging environments.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with resilience and adaptability.
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with a track record of influencing change.
  • High-level analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and development, with a focus on achieving leadership goals and KPIs.
