Job Description:

Core Talent are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated HVAC & Refrigeration Technician to join a leading HVAC & Electrical contractor in Brisbane. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The technician will troubleshoot system malfunctions, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure that HVAC and refrigeration equipment operates efficiently and in compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, heat pumps, refrigeration units, and ventilation systems.
• Diagnose issues with HVAC and refrigeration systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements of parts, including compressors, evaporators, thermostats, and motors.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance, including cleaning, inspecting, and testing HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Measure and monitor system performance using diagnostic tools such as pressure gauges, thermometers, and voltmeters.
• Recharge refrigerant in HVAC and refrigeration systems in compliance with EPA regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues related to HVAC systems, including wiring, fuses, and control boards.
• Adhere to local building codes, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines for refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients, explaining problems and solutions clearly, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of service work, parts replaced, and any customer interactions in company software systems.
• Stay up to date with new technologies, industry trends, and best practices in HVAC and refrigeration.
• Work both independently and as part of a team to meet company objectives and customer needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Current Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Trade qualifications
• Restricted electrical licence
• White Card
• Blue Card
• Proven experience as an HVAC and/or refrigeration technician with knowledge of various systems and tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
