- Significant contribution to the care of both elective and emergency patients presenting to the respective Hospitals.
- A commitment to ongoing quality assurance including clinical meetings, teaching, daily ward rounds and clinical audit is essential.
- Required to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and to participate in quality assurance activities of the Division of Surgery.
- As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Advanced Trainee will support this mission by assuming the supervised, clinical management of patients under the direct care of that team.
- General GI, Acute GI emergencies, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Chronic Liver Diseases, Functional GI disorders, Motility, Advanced Endoscopic Mucosal Imaging techniques and Interventional Endoscopy including exposure to EMR, ESD, ERCP, EUS and POEM.
- Engage in clinical practice as determined by the Director & Senior Consultant Staff.
- Ensure high standard of clinical practice of Resident Medical Officers in the Department/Unit.
- Contribute to and coordinate on a day-to-day basis the inpatient consultation service in specialty Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
This position is to provide the highest possible standard of clinical services to Gastroenterology and Hepatology patients of both individual performance and contribution to a multi-disciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care, including active involvement in teaching medical students and junior medical staff and research activity.
As per the SA Health Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation as Medical Practitioner will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.
To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner and must be eligible for registration as an advanced trainee in Gastroenterology.
