About the role:
There are 10 positions available and all positions will be allocated to 6 month terms:
- 1 x Hepatobiliary Service Registrar
- 1 x Colorectal Service Registrar
- 1 x Berri Service Registrar
- 1 x Breast Service Registrar
- 1 x GGIS Service Registrar
- 2 x Night Acute Surgical Registrars
- 2 x Day Acute Surgical Registrars
- 1 x Relieving Acute Surgical Registrar
Reporting to the Head of Unit, General Surgery and Chief Surgical Resident, some of your duties may involve:
- Undertaking 6 month rotations in Acute Surgical Registrar and a choice of Colorectal, HepatoPancreatoBiliary, Breast & Endocrine or Berri Service Registrar.
- Providing a consultative service to other units as required.
- Arranging x-ray/pathology review sessions.
- Attending unit meetings.
Please note: As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years.
About you:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
- Successful completion of the GSSE.
- Minimum of 3 year post graduate medical experience (PGY3+)..
- Working towards application to Surgical Education Training with Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
- Completed at least 12 months of General Surgery.
- Preferably have completed EMSTY, Ccrisp and ASSET course.
- Experience in research and audit work an advantage.
