Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Wellbeing Advocate Level 1 to support veterans, their families, and the wider military community through the Veteran Homelessness Program, Financial Hardship assistance, and complex case management. You will play a key role in delivering veteran-centred wellbeing services, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve the quality of life for vulnerable veterans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement client support plans using a veteran-centred, outcomes-based approach.
- Case manage veterans within programs such as Veteran Homelessness, Emergency Relief Funds, and more.
- Conduct home and hospital visits, ensuring veterans receive essential wellbeing services.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including The Salvation Army and DVA.
- Monitor client progress and escalate complex issues to the Senior Wellbeing Officer when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Humanities/Arts (Social Welfare), Health Sciences, Social Science, or related field, and 3-5 years’ relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Strength-based Case Management.
- Empathy and experience in working in sensitive environments.
- Understanding of ADF and veteran community needs (desirable).
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
