About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team at our wine bar and restaurant in Newport, VIC. This is a part-time role working in the evening from Thursday to Sunday, offering the perfect opportunity for a culinary professional to showcase their skills and passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.

What you'll be doing

Preparing high-quality, innovative dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients

Collaborating with the management team to develop and refine the menu

Ensuring consistent food preparation and presentation standards

Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment

Providing guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff

Adhering to all food safety and health regulations

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chef, preferably in a similar hospitality setting

Formal culinary training or qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu planning and cost control

Strong time management and multitasking abilities

Passion for creating innovative, flavourful dishes

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
