About the Role:

Our State Government client is seeking an AO4 Finance and Administration Officer to join the team on a temporary basis. Starting early August, the role will be initially 3 months with good potential for longer term extension. Based in Townsville and working 37.5 hours per week, the casual hourly rate will be $58.02 plus super.

This position is ideal for someone with solid finance and administration experience who enjoys working in a structured, fast-paced, and purpose-driven environment.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the team. You’ll handle tasks such as accounts payable, reconciliations, petty cash and trust account management, procurement and asset register maintenance. The role also includes coordinating travel arrangements, preparing reports and correspondence, and overseeing relevant registers and documentation.

About You:

• Strong administration and financial processing background, ideally within government or a large organisation;
• Confident working with financial systems and tools (e.g. reconciliations, procurement, reporting);
• Highly organised with strong communication and problem-solving skills; and
• Demonstrated understanding of cultural capability and diversity in the workplace.
