Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum (plus superannuation)

Employment Type: Full-Time (38 hours per week)

Ropes Crossing Medical Practice is a busy, modern, and community-focused general practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. We are currently seeking a compassionate and qualified Registered Nurse to join our professional team.

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse will provide clinical support and nursing care within the general practice setting, working closely with general practitioners, allied health professionals, and administrative staff. The role focuses on patient assessment, chronic disease management, health promotion, and procedural assistance. The role is Full-time (5 days a week with shifts varying according to the roster).

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in collaboration with the medical team, ensuring all care adheres to accepted nursing practices and standards.

Perform clinical assessments, including recording vital signs and triaging patients, and actively plan and evaluate individual patient nursing care plans.

Administer medications, injections, wound care, and immunisations according to medical orders, and monitor patient responses to all treatments and care plans, adjusting care as needed.

Assist GPs with minor surgical procedures and other clinical interventions.

Coordinate patient care pathways, including making referrals to allied health professionals and external services to ensure seamless patient journeys.

Support chronic disease management programs, including comprehensive patient education and ongoing monitoring.

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure strict compliance with infection control protocols and all clinical standards.

Provide clear and compassionate information and education to patients and their families regarding their treatment, care plans, and health conditions.

Participate in health promotion and preventative care initiatives within the practice and the wider community.

Contribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance activities within the practice, and assist with general practice administration tasks related to clinical operations.

Facilitate effective communication channels within the general practice environment and with external healthcare providers and organisations.

Requirements:

● Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.

● Minimum 1 year of experience or more as a Registered Nurse in a general practice.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

● Excellent clinical skills, including wound care, medication administration, and patient monitoring

● Commitment to patient-centred care and maintaining confidentiality.

● Familiarity with Medical Director Clinical or Best Practice is a must.
