About Us
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is one of Victoria's largest and most respected public health services, providing a comprehensive range of care. RMH Pathology delivers 24/7 diagnostic and clinical services across acute, community, and external clients.

The Victorian Department of Health has endorsed an initiative to restructure existing public pathology by bringing together laboratories into pathology networks operating under a lead health service. Pathology services from the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Women's Hospital and the Royal Children's Hospital will transition to a single pathology service. This creates an exciting opportunity to strengthen the scope, scale and reach of pathology services across the Parkville precinct to benefit all Victorians. This role will be part of the new centre of excellence that will be led by Melbourne Health.

About the Role
As the MH Pathology ICT Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and advancement of RMH Pathology's digital environment. • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on ICT system requirements and projects
  • Provide end-user support and deliver training to pathology staff
  • Engage with EMR, LIS, and MH ICT teams on system customisation and optimisation

About You
You're a collaborative and technically skilled ICT professional with:

  • Extensive experience with pathology ICT systems in a diagnostic laboratory
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commitment to RMH's values: People First, Lead with Kindness, Excellence Together

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in ICT, health, or a related field
  • Experience supporting pathology ICT systems
  • Advanced skills in digital systems and decision-support tools

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification in ICT, Health or Leadership
  • Experience in technical administration or support in a healthcare setting

Benefits of Working at the RMH:
