Title: Leaving Family Violence Case Worker x2 positions

Location: Derby, Western Australia

Employment Type: Full Time

Remuneration: $85,412-$93,193 per annum pro rata + superannuation + salary sacrifice

About the Position:

The Leaving Family Violence Case Worker position is to provide culturally safe, trauma-informed case management support to victim-survivors of intimate partner violence through the DAHS Leaving Violence Program (LVP).

The role ensures timely and appropriate responses to referrals received from Consortium members, external support services, or directly from individuals. Operating within a 12-week support framework, the position is responsible for assessing risk, developing safety plans, supporting goal setting, coordinating services, and ensuring victims are informed of their options.

This role does not deliver crisis intervention but plays a critical part in connecting individuals to the appropriate crisis services and continuing engagement post-crisis. Accurate documentation and compliance with DAHS policies, procedures, and Data Exchange (DEX) guidelines are essential to delivering high-quality care and meeting program requirements.

About DAHS:

Derby Aboriginal Health Service (DAHS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) providing holistic primary health care services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in Derby and surrounding communities. DAHS provide a wide range of innovative public health programs in addition to direct comprehensive primary health care services.

About You:

To be considered for the position, you must meet the below criteria:

Willingness to complete at a minimum Certificate IV in Community Services or related field.

Deeply respectful of cultural practices and able to ensure cultural safety for clients

Ability to develop and maintain strong links with external stakeholders including but not limited to funding bodies, Government departments, service providers and Aboriginal Communities in the Derby region.

Emotionally resilient and able to support clients through confronting situations.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal communities, families and children – specifically Aboriginal women and children who are experiencing family and domestic violence.

Experience working within a case management model.

Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously in developing and managing detailed, effective family violence safety plans for multiple families simultaneously.

Demonstrated computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to develop productive working relationships with stakeholders.

Effective time management skills, the ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines.

Effective conflict resolution skills, negotiation, mediation and decision-making skills

National Police Clearance (no longer than 6 months old)

Current “C” Class Driver’s License

First Aid/CPR

WA Working with Children’s Check

Benefits:

Annual Airfare Derby-Perth-Derby return after 12 months of continuous employment to the value of $1,683

Accommodation allowance of $7,800 towards rent expenses

5 weeks annual leave per annum pro rata with 17.5% Leave loading

Salary packaging gross up amount of $30,000 optional
