Senior Civil Design Technician – Built Environment, Infrastructure & Renewables and Urban Projects

We’re working with a long-standing engineering consultancy known for its contribution to iconic buildings, urban precincts, and complex infrastructure projects across Australia. With a national presence and a strong design reputation, they offer a stable and inclusive workplace where technical excellence is matched by a genuine focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.

They’re now looking to appoint a Senior Civil Design Technician to their Melbourne team. This is a technical design role within a well-established civil team working on everything from civic infrastructure, renewables, and streetscapes to major commercial, institutional and residential developments.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Detailed design and documentation of civil infrastructure associated with building and urban development projects (roads, drainage, sewer, water, pavements)
• Preparation of high-quality construction drawings for submission and approval
• Checking, marking up and improving documentation completed by junior and mid-level designers
• Supporting engineers and project managers on delivery of civil packages across multiple sectors
• Liaising with architects, services engineers, councils and authorities to coordinate design inputs
• Estimating materials, quantities and construction feasibility

What You’ll Bring:

• 10+ years’ experience in civil design within consulting or local government
• High-level proficiency in Civil 3D, and ideally Advanced Road Design
• Deep understanding of civil infrastructure related to building developments and public domain projects
• Ability to work confidently with multiple stakeholders and external consultants
• An eye for quality, design standards and compliance
• Advanced Diploma of Civil Engineering (or higher)
• A methodical approach and desire to contribute to a high-performing, supportive team
