What you'll be doing
Join a dynamic forensic mental health team at Blacktown Hospital, delivering high-level occupational therapy services that support patient recovery, rehabilitation, and risk management in secure and rehabilitative settings. Other responsibilities include:

• Delivering assessments and therapy in secure & rehab units
• Collaborating in MDT care planning & risk assessments
• Supporting student learning & contribute to service growth
• Preparing detailed reports for MHRT & patient records
• Liaising with internal and external agencies for discharge planning

Essential Requirements:

Qualification: Tertiary Graduate Qualification in Occupational Therapy
Registration: Current full registration with AHPRA for Occupational Therapy

Selection Criteria:

1. Significant Mental Health clinical experience with a multidisciplinary team environment providing Mental Health evidence based practice with within a rehabilitation paradigm.
2. Demonstrated experience working in partnership and collaboratively with NGO service partners and within WSLHD or JH&FMHS or similar teams and services and other key stakeholders including primary care providers.
3. Experience working in forensic (criminal) settings and jurisdictions
4. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and ability to build therapeutic relationships with clients and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
5. Ability to access, plan, initiate, manage complex cases, work to goals and targets, for both individual and group work in Mental Health setting.
6. Provide high quality reports and written documentations to a diverse range of service providers and stake holders throughout all organisational levels
7. Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia and willing to use for work purposes.
