ABOUT THE ROLE

Mature Age Apprentice highly encouraged to apply

Foxwood Custom Joinery is continuing to grow and we are looking for an Apprentice Cabinet Maker to come on board and work with our team in Scoresby, Victoria (just off Eastlink).

You will be working on a wide variety of joinery projects such as Commercial Fit outs, Office Refits, Residential Projects and wide range of shop fitting contracts.

Immediate Availability highly desirable

Permanent Full-time Apprenticeship position with the view to a long term career - Open to hiring 1st, 2nd or 3rd year apprentices

Applicants must be enrolled or willing to be enrolled (1st Year) into Certificate III in Shopfitting at TAFE

DUTIES INCLUDE

(but not limited to)

• Adhoc tasks to assist qualified trades people as required
• Read and interpret construction/shop drawings
• Maintain an excellent presentation of self, tools & work area
• Use machinery and hand tools unsupervised and efficiently
• Working with timber veneer, solid timber, pre-finished coloured board and laminates
• Understanding the integration of steelwork, aluminium, glass, upholstery, stonework and solid surfaces within the joinery construction
• Working with our friendly team to ensure continuous improvement and to achieve group goals
• Attend TAFE as per contract

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate must have;

• Initiative and Enthusiasm is highly desired
• Attention to detail
• Ability to read and understand plans, directions & shop drawings
• Excellent ability to prioritise tasks and work in a multitask environment
• Strong analytical and organisational skills
• Ability to work with a team at all levels of the organisation
• High competency levels in the manufacture of high quality Joinery
• Understanding of specifications for projects.
• Practical knowledge of WHS
