The Courts Administration Authority (CAA) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Work Health and Safety (WHS) professional to join our People and Culture Division.

About the Organisation:
The Courts Administration Authority is constituted by the Courts Administration Act 1993 (the Act). The Act established the State Courts Administration Council as an administrative authority independent of control by executive government and to confer on the Council power to provide courts with the administrative facilities and services necessary for the proper administration of justice.

Participating courts of the Authority are the Supreme Court, District Court, Environment, Resources and Development Court, Youth Court, Magistrates Court, and the Coroner's Court.

The People and Culture Division delivers strategic and operational HR services aligned with the strategic and business objectives of the CAA. It provides governance for all legislation and policy pertaining to employment of public officers.

The Division provides solutions relating to organisational development; learning and development; HR advisory and consultancy; employee and industrial relations management; workplace health and safety, injury management and rehabilitation services, and payroll services.

The Senior WHS Consultant is responsible for championing and delivering on the CAA's work health and safety plan, and to ensure work health and safety risks are identified and managed.

Reporting to the Organisational Development Lead, the role primarily provides centralised Work Health and Safety consultancy services which enables the CAA to provide a safe and productive environment for staff, including compliance with relevant legislation and best practice principles with regard to WHS, injury management, and wellbeing.

We are seeking a candidate with the following essential knowledge and experience:

The ability to comprehend, interpret, and provide advice on legislation, policies, and practices.

Strong writing, research, analytical, and reporting skills.

High-level coordination skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage priorities and programs.

Ideally, the candidate will have demonstrated experience with WHS programs and a sound understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act. However, for the right candidate who possesses the core qualities and foundational criteria but may have limited WHS knowledge, we are willing to offer study assistance and support.

Appointment is under the Courts Administration Act 1993. Terms and Conditions of employment are governed by the Public Sector Act 2009.

Appointment is dependent upon a current National Police Certificate that the CAA finds satisfactory.

As a justice agency, the CAA may receive details of spent convictions as part of any Criminal History Screening and use this information in the selection process.

Remuneration: ASO6 ($98,478 - $104,165 pa plus 12% superannuation)
