About this role
Our Townsville Home Care Service is looking for a dedicated Qualified Home Care Worker to join our team of compassionate professionals. Within the role, you will support our clients with personal cares, medication assistance, domestic assistance, meal preparation, companionship and social engagement.
Home Care Workers in this position work independently, traveling from one client to another and are fully supported by a skilled team that includes very supportive Team Leaders and Senior Home Care Workers who guide and assist field staff when working autonomously. This role offers variety, meaningful connections, and the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clients with daily activities such as showering, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist clients with their medication routines, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens.
- Help with household tasks, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Provide companionship, assist with social outings, and support clients in engaging with their communities.
- Contribute to the development and review of individualized care plans, ensuring they meet clients' needs and preferences.
What you can bring to the team
This position requires a Qualified Home Care Worker to provide personalised assistance to clients, helping them maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life within their chosen community. We are looking for someone who is dependable, driven and adaptable and who can collaborate with individuals who have varying needs. You will need to be able to follow individual service plans and communicate effectively with clients, their carers and families.
To be suitable for the position, ideally you have:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent
- A current driver's license and a reliable, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for work purposes are essential for this role. (Reimbursement of $0.96 per KM is provided for use of own vehicle)
Possess or willingness to obtain;
- Assist clients with medication Certificate - HLTHPS006
- A current National Police Certificate
