Join this leading general insurance firm in a great role that will lead to further career opportunities. This role will lead the Group Statutory Reporting, leading a team, and continually enhancing reporting capability.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of the Group’s statutory reporting, including the Annual Report and board-level reporting.
• Drive technical excellence by interpreting complex accounting standards to enhance reporting outcomes.
• Provide insightful analysis of statutory results to support strategic decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee the financial control functions for Group Head Office.
• Identify and implement process improvements to upgrade reporting quality, efficiency, and governance.
• Continually develop relationships across finance, to provide an enhanced end-to-end reporting process.
• Act as the key liaison with external auditors.
• Various aspects of project related finance engagements.

Experience:

• CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with extensive experience in financial reporting within the insurance industry.
• Proven expertise in preparing and delivering high-profile statutory reports, understanding of Australian IFRS.
• Proactive approach to upskilling on upcoming reporting requirements.
• Strong technical accounting within insurance, and strong familiarity with IFRS 17.
• Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to enhancing processes and controls.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong leader that can continually develop and mentor their team.
