About the role

Ishizuka is seeking an exceptional Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team at our prestigious restaurant in Melbourne, VIC. This is a full-time role where you will play a crucial part in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our highly regarded dining establishment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving exceptional customer service.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the Restaurant Manager in leading and motivating the front-of-house team to deliver an outstanding dining experience for our customers

Overseeing the efficient and effective running of all front-of-house operations, including reservations, seating, service, and complaint resolution

Monitoring inventory levels, placing orders, and managing food and beverage costs to ensure the restaurant operates profitably

Scheduling staff, managing rosters, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times

Providing hands-on training and development to front-of-house staff to continuously improve service standards

Representing the restaurant at industry events and networking opportunities to raise the profile of the business

Assisting the Restaurant Manager in implementing and maintaining policies, procedures, and systems to support the efficient operation of the restaurant

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar Assistant Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Manager role within a high-end dining establishment

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team

Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to handle customer queries and complaints effectively

Proficient in inventory management, cost control, and financial reporting

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure

Thorough understanding of liquor licensing and other relevant hospitality regulations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of wine and sake is required
