About the Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable General Hand / Workshop Labourer to join our team at Intermodal Group, based at our Forrestfield Container Depot. This is a full-time, permanent position offering consistent hours and the opportunity to develop valuable trade skills in a supportive team environment.

As a General Hand, you will be involved in the repair and refurbishment of empty shipping containers to meet IICL standards. This hands-on role requires a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform container repairs including patching, sectioning, and inserting new steel panels.

· Apply fillers, sealants, and paint using spray guns and compressors.

· Sand and paint containers to meet quality standards.

· Clean and maintain tools and equipment.

· Steam-clean containers as required.

· Work with Corten steel and assist with fabrication tasks.

· Perform MIG welding (training provided if required).

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

What You Will Bring

· A strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.

· Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks to a high standard.

· Basic mechanical aptitude or previous workshop experience (preferred but not essential).

· Willingness to be trained in fabrication and welding techniques.

· Reliable transport to commute to the Forrestfield depot.

· A safety-conscious and team-oriented mindset.
