The Opportunity
We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Officer to join our client’s Fremantle Team. This role is key to managing complex and high-risk procurement activities across the Department. You'll play a vital part in developing contracts, managing tenders, advising stakeholders, and mentoring junior officers — all while helping to improve procurement practices and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
As a Procurement Officer, you will:

• Lead the development and management of complex and high-risk contracts, procurement planning, and tender documentation.
• Provide expert advice on procurement and contract management issues.
• Award, vary, extend, or terminate contracts within approved authority.
• Support teams with contractor and supplier performance management.
• Contribute to policy and process improvements, ensuring compliance with supply legislation and best practices.
• Mentor and support Contract Officers to build capability across the team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to promote efficient and effective procurement outcomes.

About You
You’re a strategic thinker and experienced procurement professional who brings:

• Substantial experience in complex contracts, tendering, and purchasing.
• Strong knowledge of public sector procurement practices and policies.
• Expertise in contract performance review and risk management.
• Proven ability to build strong working relationships and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and service delivery.
