Reporting to the Store Manager you may be an experienced Tyre Fitter or someone looking to gain more experience and receive relevant training.
This role will work predominantly on commercial trucks, with some passenger vehicles from time to time. The role will be mobile and travel through the Central Coast region with minor works in Sydney and Newcastle.
Hours of work are 8am-5pm, however, this will be flexible given clients workshops and sites opening and closing at different times.
All hours after 40/week are paid as overtime and flexibility is provided for late starts and early finishes as warranted.
To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and attributes:
The Role:
- Practical Skills: Proficiency in using tools and equipment for tyre fitting and repair.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of tyre types, wheel systems, and vehicle mechanics.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accurate and safe fitting and repair procedures.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy tyres and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Customer Service Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide helpful advice.
- Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving tyre and wheel related issues.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Safety Awareness: Adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
- Required to work off site at customers depots unsupervised
- An MR/HR truck licence will be highly regarded but is not essential. Training can be provided pending good performance.
- Tyre Fitting and Replacement: Removing old tyres and fitting new ones using specialized equipment.
- Tyre Repair: Inspecting tyres for damage, repairing punctures, and assessing the need for replacement.
- Wheel Service: Balancing wheels, and ensuring proper inflation.
- Customer Service: Providing advice on tyre selection, maintenance, and safety.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Inspecting vehicle components related to tyres.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Maintaining Workshop: Keeping the work area and tools clean and organized.
This role is ideally suited to someone with high experience in these areas, however, we will also consider you if you have a high mechanical aptitude and are willing to learn. A traineeship in Tyre Servicing Technology Cert II will also be offered to interested candidates.
An hourly rate commensurate with experience will be offered.
