Join a Leading Civil & Demolition Contractor | Circa $100K + Super + Growth Potential
Are you a hands-on, problem-solving Plant & Equipment Mechanic looking to take your career to the next level?
A prominent Civil and Demolition contractor is seeking a dedicated Mechanic to join their team in a leadership position, and become an integral part of a dynamic and fast-paced operation.
If you have the skills to repair and maintain a variety of plant, equipment, and tools—while managing workflow, priorities, and one other, in a supportive, team-driven environment—this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repairs: Work across a diverse range of equipment, including petrol and electric tools (ring saws, wall saws, road saws, wire saws, quick cuts, etc.), diesel compressors, generators, bobcats, and a fleet of 7 excavators (ranging from 1.7T to 35T).
- Workshop Management: Organise daily tasks, prioritising and managing workloads efficiently while maintaining a clean, safe, and productive workshop.
- Team Leadership: Supervise 1 workshop staff member, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standard.
- Parts & Equipment Ordering: Manage inventory for parts, equipment, and consumables for repairs and maintenance, whether new, replacement, or second-hand.
- Emergency Repairs: Provide on-site emergency support when required.
- Site Deliveries: Occasionally transport equipment to sites.
- Towing & Trailer Handling (Preferred): Experience with towing and reversing trailers.
- Licenses & Skills: Valid forklift and driver’s license.
What We’re Looking For:
- Diesel experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Plant & Equipment Mechanic with a passion for fixing, maintaining, and improving machinery.
- A solid track record in maintenance and repair of heavy plant and tools, ideally in a civil or demolition environment, but open to experience gained in other environments.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- A can-do attitude, with a focus on safety and quality.
- Forklift and Driver’s License are essential for this role.
NOTE: Only Australian Permanent Residents and Citizens can be hired - sponsorship of visas for overseas people is not available.
Benefits and rewards:
- Competitive salary starting at $100K + Super (based on your experience and skill set).
- Opportunity for career growth.
- Be part of a well-established and successful business with a fantastic reputation in the civil and demolition industry.
- Work on exciting and challenging projects that will enhance your skills and experience.
- Supportive team culture with room to grow and develop.
