The company:
This niche, Newcastle based consulting business operates in the areas of hazardous materials, occupational hygiene, industrial chemistry, contaminated land management, hazardous waste management, hazardous chemicals audits and training.

Requirement:
Due to continual work from returning key clients, an opportunity now exists for a Hazmat Consultant / Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA) to join the team in a permanent, full-time role.

The role:

HAZMAT and Asbestos inspections/surveys

Provide asbestos assessment reports and recommendations

Provide site supervision for asbestos removal projects

Conduct asbestos monitoring, including fibre count lab work

Clearance inspections for friable & non-friable asbestos removal projects

Technical report writing, scope of works development & technical advice.

* - If desired, this role will also give you exposure to and training in wider ranging Occupational Hygiene and Contaminated Lands Environmental work.

You will need to have

Current Asbestos Assessors License

Preferably NATA asbestos fibre counting experience and solid laboratory skills

2+ years' experience carrying out Hazmat/Asbestos assessment, monitoring and reporting.

Current Australian Driver's License

Able to travel to project sites as required

Sound written and oral communication skills with proven experience producing technical reports.

Ability to work well independently when required as well in a team environment.

Computer literate - Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting.

Key responsibilities in the role will include the following:

Provide asbestos assessment reports and recommendations

Provide site supervision for asbestos removal projects

Clearance inspections of friable & non-friable asbestos removal work
