The work area
These roles sit within the Performance Monitoring Unit (PMU) Directorate which is part of the Strategic Policy and Evaluation business unit. The Performance Monitoring Unit (PMU), a new unit of Treasury and Finance that leads the monitoring and review of key Government priorities, providing regular advice to Government on current and future investment.
The opportunity
We are looking for innovative, proactive and collaborative individuals who thrive on critical thinking and finding solutions to complex problems to join us and make a difference for Western Australia.
As a Principal Analyst (Level 7) or Senior Analyst (Level 6) in the PMU, you will work closely with relevant agencies to undertake reviews on the progress and delivery of key Government priorities and/or functions.
In this role, you will:
- provide financial analysis and strategic policy advice to Government on the performance of relevant agencies, business cases, budget submissions, and policy proposals, with a particular lens on ensuring value for money outcomes;
- excel in stakeholder relationship skills, working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders to leverage expertise and resources to evaluate issues and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems; and
- manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
This opportunity is to fill x 2 Permanent-Full Time positions for immediate filling, however this process may be used to fill future, similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise across Treasury and Finance within the next 12 months.
Part-time arrangements may also be considered for suitable candidates.

About Department of Treasury WA
The Department of Treasury consists of two businesses – Treasury, and Strategic Projects and Asset Sales.
The Treasury business provides economic and financial management and advice to Government. This includes the formulation, implementation and monitoring throughout the year of the State Budget; economic and revenue forecasting; advice and analysis on financial arrangements with the Commonwealth; advice on infrastructure policy and planning; advice on the State’s financial management framework; and management of the Public Ledger.
Strategic Projects and Asset Sales manages the State Government's high-risk infrastructure projects by overseeing major non-residential building projects and pursuing optimum cost, time and quality outcomes. The projects assigned to the Department are typically greater than $100 million in value. In addition, Strategic Projects and Asset Sales has responsibility for the planning and delivery of the State’s asset sales program as determined by Government.
