Education Assistant (EA), High School

Part-time position (11 hours per week)

Perth Waldorf School is seeking enthusiastic individuals to take on the role of Education Assistant (EA), starting in Term 3, 2025.

Education Assistants work closely with one year group in the morning, supporting teachers with various tasks during the Main Lesson time (8.25am to 10.25am every school day). Additional hours may also be available in areas such as Learning Support, Art, or Craft.

For some people, the prospect of working in a High School setting may seem daunting however usually EA’s report on the pleasure and enjoyment of working with engaged and engaging young people and being able to observe and participate in the teaching of the highly creative Steiner curriculum. Teens are delightful to work with once you engage with them.

Criteria:

Knowledge of Steiner Education and the ethos of the school, or a willingness to learn, is vital.

A qualification related to education assistant work or youth work (for High School) is desirable.

A valid Working with Children Check or ability to successfully apply for one.

Australian residency or possession of a valid visa with work entitlement in Australia.
