SUMMARY
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Counsel to join an award-winning Australian construction company based in Sydney. This permanent role offers a salary package of up to $240k + super (commensurate with experience).

THE ROLE
You will provide legal support and contract management for a construction organisation, focusing on compliance, risk management, and contract administration. This is a permanent, full-time role based in a modern Circular Quay office with a flexible work environment.

Drive compliance with safety policies and OH&S legislative requirements to maintain a safe workplace.

Advise on contract interpretation, administration, and risk management for projects.

Prepare commercial benchmark reviews and returnable schedules for head contracts in tenders.

Manage and assist in formal legal disputes, including contract disputes and security of payment issues.

Develop and deliver training on contract interpretation and administration to internal stakeholders.

Collaborate with external legal counsel and provide guidance on legal enquiries related to marketing, IT, and WHS.

ABOUT YOU
You are an admitted legal professional with a strong background in construction law. You have 7+ years post-qualification experience, preferably with front-end expertise.

Law degree with a current NSW practising certificate.

Solid experience in construction law and management.

Proven ability in contract interpretation and administration.

Strong communication skills to influence and build relationships at all levels.

Capability to work independently, exercising initiative and sound decision-making.

Experience managing legal disputes and understanding relevant legislation.

Professional, mature, and results-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
