As we expand our technical capability and strategic presence, we’re seeking an exceptional Senior Backend Developer to join our Canberra-based team, with a dedicated focus on orchestration technologies and the ABAC (Attribute-Based Access Control) platform.

About the Role
This role is integral to strengthening our orchestration delivery into classified environments and enabling a true follow-the-sun development model. Embedded within a globally distributed team, you'll lead backend development efforts that power secure, scalable, and intelligent access control systems.

You’ll be working at the forefront of our mission: to secure the world's most sensitive information—without compromising on performance or usability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and optimisation of backend services across orchestration and ABAC systems.

Work collaboratively with global development teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure platforms.

Provide technical expertise and support to sales and pre-sales functions, including localised demonstrations and solutioning.

Contribute to secure delivery frameworks in alignment with national and international compliance requirements.

Drive innovation and continuous improvement in backend architecture and deployment practices.

Your Onboarding Journey
To ensure alignment and deep technical understanding, your onboarding will include a 10-week international rotation:

Weeks 1–4: On-site in Germany

Weeks 5–8: On-site in Canberra

Weeks 9–10: Return to Germany for final integration

This immersive experience ensures strong global integration, seamless knowledge transfer, and long-term project continuity.

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience in backend development (Go preferred; other languages such as Java or Python also considered).

Strong understanding of orchestration platforms, distributed systems, and access control frameworks.

Familiarity with security-first development environments and classified delivery constraints.

Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with global teams.

A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a commitment to technical excellence.

NV1 Security Clearance is highly preferred. Applicants must be Australian citizens and in a position to obtain NV1 clearance within a short timeframe.
