About the Role

As a Registered Nurse within our General Medicine ward at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, you’ll play a vital role in delivering safe, connected, and compassionate care to a diverse patient cohort. This role is ideal for nurses ready to grow from novice to proficient practitioners, as you consolidate your clinical knowledge, build your confidence, and develop your capabilities through hands-on experience and ongoing professional development. You’ll be supported in taking accountability for your practice, while also contributing to a culture of excellence in care.

You’ll work as part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, supervising and supporting students, Assistants in Nursing/Midwifery, and Enrolled Nurses. With strong internal collaboration and valuable connections to external partners—including non-government and government agencies—you’ll be empowered to meet the holistic needs of your patients. About You

You’re a compassionate and capable nurse who thrives in dynamic healthcare environments. With a focus on safety, connection, and excellence, you bring a strong foundation in clinical care, a commitment to continuous learning, and a collaborative approach that enhances outcomes for patients and their families.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
• Strong communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and prioritise care effectively
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and quality improvement systems in healthcare
