The Opportunity:

  • Full-Time | Contract of employment for a period of 12 months
  • PW8 $104,883 - $114,252 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • Chadstone Campus – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport

The Corporate Governance, Risk and Strategy function at Holmesglen plays a vital role in ensuring the Institute upholds transparency, maintains accountability, and meets its compliance obligations. This team provides secretariat support to the Board and its committees, facilitating a strong corporate governance culture. The department is responsible for maintaining and updating the organisation’s policies and procedures, ensuring that its policy and procedure architecture is current, accessible, and aligned with best practices. This team also includes specialist resources supporting enterprise risk management and records management.

The Policy and Governance Manager is responsible for the development, maintenance and review of policy, procedure and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements and achievement of strategic and business objectives in consultation with compliance obligation owners. The position ensures the integrity of the organisation’s governance framework and plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, compliant, and effective work and learning environment for all employees and learners.

As a Policy and Governance Manager, you will:

  • Provide expert advice to compliance owners to ensure governance systems effectively respond to legal and regulatory obligations, control compliance risks and support efficient operations.
  • Lead the development of strategies, policies, procedures and supporting documentation with strong stakeholder engagement.
  • Report on compliance performance and implement strategies to address risks and improve effectiveness.
  • Enhance our governance framework and policy architecture to align with strategic objectives and support enterprise-wide integration.
  • Provide leadership and support to build organisational capability and embed risk and compliance practices across business units.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex legislative and regulatory requirements and translate them into effective policy and business processes.
  • Proven ability to develop, manage, and maintain governance systems and documentation - particularly policy and procedure architecture - with advanced corporate writing skills.
  • Strong analytical, risk-focused approach to problem-solving, with the ability to balance strategic priorities and operational demands to enhance organisational effectiveness.
  • High-level stakeholder engagement and influencing capability, with a focus on building productive relationships across government, community, industry and internal teams.
  • Recognised as accountable, collaborative and adaptable, with a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in governance and compliance practices.
  • Hold postgraduate qualifications in management, leadership or business; specialist qualifications in governance and risk will be highly regarded.
  • WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
