We’re looking for a passionate and highly creative Urban Designer (Graphic Designer) to bring planning concepts to life through engaging visuals, smart layouts, and 3D modelling.

You'll play a central role in the Visual Development Control Plan (DCP) Project, delivering visual planning and design outputs that are clear, accessible, and visually compelling. Your work will directly influence master plans, planning proposals, the 3D model project, and more.

What you’ll be doing

• Design and produce high-quality layouts, diagrams, maps and models to support the DCP and other design policies.
• Create easy-to-understand, attractive planning and design documents for public-facing use.
• Use tools like SketchUp, Giraffe, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office to produce 2D and 3D visualisations.
• Collaborate closely with strategic planners, urban designers, and internal stakeholders.
• Apply accessibility standards in document design to ensure public accessibility.
• Support various strategic projects across the City Strategy and Design Unit.

About you

• 3–5 years’ experience in urban design, 3D modelling, and visualisation.
• Strong graphic design skills with experience producing sophisticated layout and documentation.
• Proficient in design software including SketchUp, AutoCAD, Giraffe (or willingness to learn), Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, and MS Office.
• A clear communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative team.
• Passionate about accessible and impactful design for diverse communities.
