The Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Division provides services supporting the Department’s educational outcomes for Western Australia’s 800+ public schools, including network and application technology, architecture, business and business systems analysis, project management, ITIL/ITSM processes, as well as system enhancements, support, and development of new initiatives.
The ICT Finance Systems team sits within the ICT Corporate Systems branch of the Integration, Build and Deployment Directorate. The Directorate is responsible for Security Implementation, Solutions Architecture, Solutions Development and Maintenance, Testing and Assurance and Data Management in an ICT context. The Directorate has responsibility for building, integrating and maintaining technical solutions to organisational challenges ensuring applications, systems and products are appropriately constructed, integrated, interfaced and configured to meet business needs.
The ICT Finance Systems team focuses on facilitating business requirements, system enhancements, and testing of the Department’s financial systems, as well as system administration and support activities.
The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and professional Senior Systems Officer (Finance) to assist in the system administration, testing, and maintenance of the Department’s implementation of the Oracle E-Business Suite, including maintenance of the associated knowledge base.
As the Senior Systems Officer (Finance) you will adhere to the principles of the Software Development Life Cycle by ensuring service tickets are triaged and appropriately administered, test cases are created and executed in line with business requirements, regular system administration activities are performed, support coverage is provided as required, and the knowledge base maintained. You will also liaise with development and analysis staff to meet the requirements of system enhancements, testing, and assist business stakeholders with UAT plans.
Our ideal candidate will apply an organised and methodical approach to their work and have:
- practical knowledge and experience in the Oracle E-Business Suite or similar ERP;
- well-developed system trouble shooting, analytical and problem-solving skills;
- well-developed communication skills, including document production and maintenance; and,
- knowledge and experience in financial accounting principles, concepts and practices, as applied to an ERP.
Please note: This position has just become vacant and there is no one acting in the role.
