The College operates across two campuses: Gordonvale (Djarragun Campus) and Wangetti (Girl Academy Campus)
The Property Maintenance Officer and Bus Driver is a crucial member of the College in providing efficient support across both Campuses as required, although will be based at the Gordonvale Campus.
The successful applicant must have a current Blue Card before commencing in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Bus Driver:
Safely transport students to and from various locations.
Maintain a clean and mechanically-sound bus at all times.
Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
Interact professionally with students, staff, and the public.
Property Maintenance Officer:
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of school facilities.
Address any repair needs promptly and efficiently.
Assist in the upkeep of school grounds and gardens.
Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
Qualifications:
Valid MR or above driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Drivers Authority or ability to obtain one
Blue Card for working with Children
Experience in driving buses or large vehicles is preferred.
Skills in basic property maintenance and repair work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong commitment to the safety and wellbeing of students.

About Djarragun College
We recognise the traditional owners of Cape York and the Torres Strait Islands and pay our respects to our elders, past and present.
Djarragun College is a co-educational non‐denominational day and boarding school for Years P to 12. The College opened in 2001 and occupies a beautiful, spacious campus in Gordonvale 20 kilometres south of Cairns.
As a distinctive far North Queensland school, the college is made up almost exclusively of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student body, of whom approximately 20% are boarders. The majority of the student body comes from Yarrabah, Gordonvale and the greater Cairns area. These students are transported by bus to school daily. The boarders come from the Torres Strait Islands, Cape York, other parts of Queensland and interstate.
