Remuneration: SES 1 ($225,000 - $290,600 TRP)

Position Overview

Regional Director - Greater Melbourne: Melbourne CBD & regional travel

Regional Director – Northeast: Wangaratta/Shepparton/Alexandra (negotiable) & regional travel

Regional Director – Northwest: Bendigo area (negotiable) & regional travel

Regional Director – Southwest: Ballarat / Ararat ((negotiable) & regional travel

Regional Director – Gippsland: Bairnsdale area (negotiable) & regional travel

These roles are critical to Parks Victoria's success as the organisation undergoes significant transformation, getting 'back to basics' to improve performance in ensuring Victoria's diverse network of parks and reserves remain accessible for all visitors to enjoy whilst protecting natural and cultural values. The Regional Directors will focus on capital delivery, asset maintenance and management to ensure park facilities are open and accessible to the general public. You will drive place-based leadership with an operational focus on managing regional budgets, local projects and contracts whilst leading comprehensive on-ground park management operations across Victoria's distinct geographic regions.

As a Regional Director, you will lead significant teams through transformational change and build capability to manage local infrastructure and deliver customer-oriented services. You will be empowered to make key regional decisions across business management, local communications, stakeholder management and planning approvals. You will foster genuine partnerships with Traditional Owners, local communities, businesses and other stakeholders whilst ensuring operational excellence across your region's unique portfolio of parks, reserves and designated local ports and waterways.

Your Experience and Attributes

Proven executive leadership experience in complex operations, ideally with infrastructure, project management or asset management backgrounds

Strong project management expertise with experience in capital delivery, asset maintenance and contract management across diverse operational environments

Demonstrated capability in financial management including budget development and management of resource allocation and delivery plan implementation

Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills with experience managing diverse community interests, building trust-based relationships and engaging in difficult conversations when required

Exceptional problem-solving abilities with experience in asset management, commercial relationships and heritage considerations

Experience leading dispersed teams through organisational change whilst building collaborative, outwardly-focused partnerships and embracing accountability frameworks

Cultural competence with Traditional Owners and commitment to place-based leadership approaches with understanding of self-determination principles

Strong communication skills with ability to hold teams accountable to organisational priorities and drive customer service excellence
