$120k-$140k + Super + Bonus (dependant on experience)
A leading provider of remote accommodation services is currently seeking two dedicated professionals to join their HSQE team: a Mid-Level HSEQ Advisor and a Senior HSEQ Advisor. These roles are essential in supporting and improving health, safety, quality, and environmental (HSQE) standards across a network of remote accommodation villages throughout Queensland.
About the Roles
Working in collaboration with operational and site teams, these roles focus on implementing and maintaining an Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring compliance, and cultivating a strong safety-first culture across multiple sites.
- The Mid-Level Advisor will support day-to-day HSEQ operations, including audits, risk assessments, training coordination, and compliance reporting.
- The Senior Advisor will lead site-level HSEQ strategy, mentor junior staff, manage risk and safety plans, and drive continuous improvement across the business.
Both roles operate on a DIDO 8 days on / 6 days off roster, with regular travel to sites across Central and Northern Queensland.
Key Responsibilities (All Levels)
- Implement and maintain HSQE systems and procedures in alignment with legislative and organisational requirements
- Promote a people-based safety culture through daily engagement with operational teams
- Conduct audits, risk assessments, site inspections, and incident investigations
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and internal training programs
- Assist in the development and review of safe work procedures and emergency response plans
- Record, analyse, and report on HSEQ performance metrics
- Support site-level HSQE committees and foster ongoing collaboration across teams
Additional Senior Advisor Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of HSEQ initiatives across multiple locations
- Develop and manage site-specific safety and risk management plans
- Partner with site and operational leaders to address client expectations and regulatory obligations
- Oversee complex incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Support injury prevention campaigns and emergency response preparedness
- Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing
- Act as Fire Safety Advisor, including conducting drills and maintaining compliance
What You'll Need
Essential (Both Roles):
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence
- Senior First Aid certification
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management principles
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- High computer literacy and attention to detail
Desirable (Especially for Senior Role):
- Diploma in WHS or relevant tertiary qualifications
- Qualifications in Risk Management, Training & Assessment, Auditing, or Food Safety
- Knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
- Experience in psychosocial risk management or workplace rehabilitation programs
- Prior experience in remote accommodation, hospitality, or industrial services
