- This role is Newcastle based with an expectation to be on-site but does offer flexibility with WFH/hybrid and is open to Sydney based candidates.
Role Summary
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to lead the enterprise-wide implementation of a new Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) system. This critical role will support the design and delivery of an integrated future state for safety and compliance across the organisation, with a strong focus on aligning the WH&S platform with contractor management, risk, incident reporting, and audit systems.
The Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution, driving stakeholder engagement, defining business processes, and supporting change management efforts to ensure successful adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities across all phases of the WH&S system rollout, from discovery to implementation and transition to operations.
- Identify and assess opportunities for system integration with contractor management, incident reporting, risk management, and compliance platforms.
- Document and map current and future state business processes, workflows, and data models.
- Develop business cases, user stories, functional specifications, and other key documentation to support delivery.
- Collaborate with business units, safety teams, IT, and external vendors to ensure solution alignment and business value.
- Support system configuration, vendor selection, user acceptance testing, and deployment.
- Work closely with change management teams to drive stakeholder engagement, training, and user adoption.
- Ensure all solutions are aligned with enterprise architecture and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in a Senior Business Analyst role, ideally within a large-scale transformation or system implementation.
- Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) processes and systems.
- Experience integrating business systems such as contractor management, risk, incident reporting, and audit platforms.
- Familiarity with relevant WH&S and compliance systems such as Damstra, Veriforce, Pegasus, Avetta, SafetyCulture, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working across cross-functional teams, with strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- High-level analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities, with a focus on delivering business outcomes.
- Exposure to change management and process design using BPMN is highly desirable.
