Position Summary

The Junior Finance Analyst will play a key support role within the Finance team, assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, data analysis, and various operational finance tasks. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to grow in the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and analysis

Support budgeting and forecasting processes

Perform variance analysis and assist in identifying trends or anomalies

Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, dashboards, and other financial models

Assist with reconciliations and journal entries

Collaborate with other departments to gather data and ensure financial accuracy

Contribute to ad hoc financial projects and process improvement initiatives

Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies

Key Selection Criteria

Essential:

Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline

Strong numerical and analytical skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Desirable:

Previous experience in a finance or accounting-related role

Exposure to financial systems such as MYOB, Xero, or SAP

Understanding of the financial services industry

• A desire to undertake and obtain CA/CPA qualification
