Position Purpose/Job Summary
• The Registered Nurse is the principle professional carer in the Nursing Home. This person is responsible for the delivery of and the standard of care related to the Activities of Daily Living support, medication management and nursing services that residents receive.
• The Registered Nurse supervises and delegates appropriate tasks to the Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing.
• The Registered Nurse has overall responsibility for the care delivered whilst on shift.
Key Selection Criteria:
• Has completed a Degree in Nursing Science or equivalent and holds current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrated ability to working with Residents in a way that focuses on the Resident’s dignity and ability to participate in decisions regarding their care and is able to make a commitment to the Mission, Values and Vision Statements of the Organization.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and prioritise care for individuals and to work with Residents recognising their right to participate and make decisions on the care they receive and to supervise Enrolled Nurses and/or Assistants in Nursing to provide the same care where applicable.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm, initiative and good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly.
• Demonstrates a sound understanding of; Quality Improvement, Aged Care Standards, Accreditation and the Aged Care Funding Instrument and demonstrates a commitment to professional self development.
• Demonstrates an awareness and commitment to Work Health and Safety and complies with current Federal Govt Police Check requirements at all times
Education, Qualifications & Special Requirements:
• Current NSW Drivers Licence - Desirable
• Current National Police Check
• Current AHPRA registration

Follow Adina Care Policy and Procedures
Works under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Nursing.
Responsible for the planning individual care of Residents and formulation of a Nursing Care Plan:
Carrying out when applicable:
• Medication Management
• Management of S8 medications for the shift
• Care Planning
• ACFI assessments
• Documentation of care via PCC app
• Wound and other skin care activities
• Supervision of and assistance to Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing
• Participate in planning shift activities – prioritising care and checking completion. Demonstrated respect for Residents; their individual choice and dignity.
Ability to work autonomously.
Works within scope of practice
Contribute to QI projects.
Reports incidents of concern to the DepDon
Developing Self Professionally
Participates in the appraisal process with direct line manager to meet KPI’s
Participates in professional development as identified at appraisal interview.
Keeps up to date with new technologies, techniques, and practice.
Attends mandatory education sessions. Participates in annual position description review at appraisal or earlier if required.
Attends agreed professional development programs.
Contributes meaningfully to discussions on innovations.
Inservice record is appropriately endorsed for mandatory education.
Workplace Health & Safety
Advise DDON of any equipment or items that need replacing or repairing as soon as possible.
Ensure hazards are identified and reported to DDON.
Provide a safe working environment for staff, visitors and residents through adherence to the Work Health and Safety Act.
Follow universal precaution principles at all times Workplace WH&S indicators are met within the clinical care areas.
Actively participates in maintaining a safe working environment.
