MC Bulk Tanker Operator | Bulwer Island

The Role

The position requires a person who is a competent driver with the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision whilst outside the depot. A sound knowledge of freight handling and transportation of dangerous goods is essential. The Dangerous Goods (DG) driver is responsible for the delivery and transport of Class 2 and 5 Dangerous goods to our clients through Australia. The DG Driver is required to work seamlessly within the team environment via utilisation of their operational and personal skills, as well as their ability to follow operational processes, procedures and industry and legislative standards. The successful candidate will hold an MC driver's license and have experience with Tankers.

• Rotating 7 day per week roster between day shift and night shift including weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload products safely and in accordance with Explosives and/or Dangerous Goods Act, customer. requirements, company policy and delivery schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections, ensuring any issues (potential or current) are raised accordingly and in line with the. relevant Toll Group standards and procedures.
• Comply with all legislated road laws and regulations, including both private and public networks.
• Conduct all tasks within a customers' site or in public arena with professionalism.
• Complete all paperwork required by both Toll and the customer to a high standard.
• Always maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Report all defects, hazards, near misses and incidents in an efficient manner.
• Build and maintain strong team communications between internal and external parties.
• Ensure that the operation of all equipment complies with the relevant Toll Group, TRGL and TMS operating procedures and policies.

Skills & Experience

• Current MC drivers' licence.
• Current Dangerous Goods license or willing to obtain.
• Experience within a DG environment.
• Experience doing bulk gas deliveries to customers - Highly desirable.
• Extensive experience in commercial truck driving.
• Knowledge of the fatigue legislation and all safety facets surrounding the transport industry.
• Flexibility to adapt day to day operations.
