Welcome to Online Laser Cutting - an online laser cutting company based in Brookvale working with businesses and creative people across Australia. We are passionate about bringing their ideas to life from our large range of 400+ colourful materials and wood.

We're looking for someone local to the area who is smarter than average, technically minded and a good multi-tasker to help in our small and busy workshop.

The role is working with our laser cutters and helping in our studio to get our orders out the door at lightning speed. You don't need to have any experience with laser cutters, we'll provide all the training you need.

This is a casual role initially 3 days per week (typically 9am - 4pm) and you must be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There's potential for more hours as we get busier later in the year.

What would a typical day look like?

You kick off in the morning by warming up the machines and checking the lenses are clean and ready to go.

A quick scan of the job list shows that there are a couple of urgent long engraving jobs to get done today, so you decide those ones should be started first. You touch base with your workmates, letting them know they are under control and will be ready to ship today.

While they are going you grab some materials from stock and prep the next batch of jobs for cutting.

With your eagle eye for detail you spot a missing cut line in the customer's file just before you hit go, so you open up Adobe Illustrator and fix it yourself.

After lunch you notice the stock of green mirror is down to 1 sheet, you alert purchasing and you quickly update the stock count for all the mirror colours so we can order more before we run short.

Later in the day you help check and pack up the day's orders, booking some online to handover to our lovely mail man, before shutting down the machines and helping clean up the workshop so we can start the day fresh tomorrow.

What sort of person are we looking for?

You should be the sort of person who:

Has a great eye for detail and always spots those little issues that other people can't seem to see.

Enjoys problem-solving and working with computers and machines.

Is good at multitasking, juggling multiple jobs at once.

Likes things to be organised and enjoys getting things done quickly and efficiently.

Takes real pride in their work and never lets things slip by them.

Is comfortable working independently.

Is hands-on and not afraid of picking up a saw, sander or screwdriver.
