About Bellarine Veterinary Practice

Bellarine Veterinary Practice has been providing quality care to animals in the Geelong and Bellarine Peninsula area since 1977. We have six clinics located in Newcomb, Grovedale, Drysdale, Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove and Point Lonsdale, offering a wide range of veterinarian services, including visiting specialists, comprehensive health programs and pet grooming.

We are looking for an experience groomer to join our Newcomb grooming team. For the right candidate we are open to applicants looking for permanent or casual work.

About the role

Provide grooming services to a range of breeds, bathing, brushing, drying, nail trims, ear cleaning, styling and clipping for generic and breed specific grooms.

Communicate with clients about their pets specific grooming needs.

Provide pets with a positive experience, handling pets in a calm and gentle manner.

Maintain a clean and organised grooming area.

Maintain a commitment to safety and wellbeing for yourself, your team and the pets in your care

Supervise and control groups of dogs, understanding their behaviour.

Manage appointments, making bookings and taking payments.

To be successful in this role you will need:

2+ years experience in dog grooming, with a strong understanding of various breed-specific grooming techniques.

Excellent animal handling skills and the ability to work safely and calmly with dogs of different sizes and temperaments.

Stong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and other staff.

Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently and part of a team.

Certification in pet grooming or a related field is preferred, but not required

Be physically fit, able to be on your feet for long periods of time and work in a fast paced, noisy environment.
