Transwa is the regional division of the Public Transport Authority (PTA) and a direct provider of public transport services that connect 240 destinations across the state, from Kalbarri in the North to Augusta in the South West and Esperance in the South East.
About the role
Step into a rewarding, people-focused role with Transwa as a Passenger Assistant on our iconic Prospector, AvonLink, and MerredinLink services. As the friendly face of Transwa, you’ll be at the heart of every journey—delivering comfort, assistance, and safety to our passengers. From helping someone find their seat to supporting families, the elderly, or passengers with additional needs, you’ll play a vital role in making each trip smooth, safe, and enjoyable.
Your day-to-day will keep you engaged and on the move—maintaining clean and functional onboard facilities, managing buffet sales, handling cash, and assisting the Senior Passenger Assistant as required. You’ll be part of a supportive onboard team, ready to respond to routine and emergency procedures alike. Each shift brings variety, a strong sense of purpose, and the unique opportunity to travel across some of Western Australia’s most scenic rail routes.
Our ideal candidate is someone with genuine warmth, great communication skills, and strong customer service experience—preferably from a hospitality or service background. Additionally, the ability to travel to regional locations and work outside normal business hours—including weekends and public holidays—are essential.
