About the job

The Clinical Consultant plays a critical role in supporting the development and improvement of youth mental health services nationwide. The role will have a focus on quality improvement and systems change through delivering training, reflective practice, and tailored facilitation support, amongst other strategies.

Reporting to the Associate Director you will:

  • Provide clinical consultation, training, and workforce development to support high-quality delivery of the EPPIC model across hEP programs.
  • Lead and contribute to resource development, Communities of Practice, and knowledge translation activities to build clinical and service capability.
  • Engage with stakeholders across hEP services, PHNs, and partner organisations to support collaboration and strategic service development.
  • Support fidelity assessments and continuous improvement efforts to ensure alignment with the EPPIC model and enhance service quality.
  • Promote early psychosis best practice nationally and internationally, while contributing to team culture, supervision, and broader KT initiatives.

Skills and experience

The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:

  • Tertiary qualifications in allied health or health related discipline and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or equivalent experience and qualifications.
  • Extensive clinical expertise in early intervention for youth mental health, with a strong background in early psychosis programs and evidence-based practice.
  • Skilled in delivering training, consultation, and supervision to diverse teams, with experience in facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian mental health system, relevant policy context, and quality improvement within early psychosis and youth mental health settings.
  • Ability to work as part of a small team building open and transparent relationships and work independently.
