The Position

Employment & Business Lawyer – Boutique Firm | Supportive Team

We’re currently seeking an experienced Employment/Business Lawyer to join our legal practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, providing clear, practical legal advice across employment and business matters. You’ll play a key role in supporting a range of businesses with workplace compliance, disputes, and commercial legal needs all within a close-knit, supportive team that values genuine client relationships and tailored solutions.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

Advising clients on employment law drafting and reviewing contracts, policies, and helping them stay compliant with workplace laws.

Working through workplace disputes unfair dismissal, discrimination, wage issues whether that’s through advice, negotiation, or representation.

Supporting clients with business law matters, including governance, commercial agreements, and regulatory compliance.

Drafting and negotiating business documents like shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, and contracts.

Helping clients navigate mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring with a strong focus on employment and business considerations.

About You:

You hold an LLB or JD and have a current Australian practising certificate.

You bring 5+ years of post-admission experience in employment law, business law, or a combination of both.

You have strong drafting skills and a sharp eye for detail, ensuring high-quality, accurate legal work.

You take a practical, outcome-focused approach to legal issues, always aiming to deliver value and clarity to clients.

You’re proactive, well-organised, and confident managing competing priorities across a varied workload.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, contributing to a positive team culture and building strong, trusted relationships with clients.
