A leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Field Service Engineering Lead to take charge of global technical operations supporting advanced sensing and counter-UAS systems. This role will oversee the deployment, support, and maintenance of high-performance embedded and RF-based technologies, ensuring quality service delivery to defence, government, and infrastructure clients around the world.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a geographically distributed team of Field Service Engineers (FSEs), acting as both a strategic lead and technical escalation point for mission-critical deployments and operations. This is a dynamic position at the intersection of engineering, customer success, and field execution — ideal for a results-driven individual with a passion for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and support a global team of Field Service Engineers, including performance reviews, hiring, and mentorship
- Coordinate installation, servicing, upgrades, and customer technical support across international deployments
- Define and refine service workflows, SOPs, safety procedures, and internal training programs
- Drive operational readiness and successful transition from deployment to long-term support in collaboration with engineering and QA teams
- Lead resolution of escalated technical challenges and manage complex field issues through to resolution
- Promote service consistency through continuous process improvement and post-deployment feedback cycles
- Maintain detailed service records via internal platforms (e.g., Jira, Salesforce) and ensure timely reporting
- Support logistics and personnel planning for rapid-response global operations
- Assist in shaping and delivering warranty, support contract, and service-level packages
- Represent the FSE function in customer meetings, internal reviews, and project planning
Required Experience & Skills
- Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of field service, systems integration, or technical support experience
- Minimum 2 years in a team leadership or management role
- Hands-on knowledge of embedded systems, RF technologies, or electronics preferred
- Proven ability to lead diverse technical teams in complex, time-sensitive environments
- Strong analytical and fault diagnosis capabilities
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Willingness to work in field conditions and travel internationally as needed
- Must be eligible for Australian NV1 security clearance
