Moodle Developer

NSW Government Sydney Location/WFH
$700 - $900 + Super
Assignment 6-12 months

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and customize Moodle functionality, including plugins, themes, and APIs.
• Implement automation for enrolment, credentialing, and reporting processes.
• Develop and maintain integrations between Moodle and other departmental systems.
• Conduct testing and troubleshooting of Moodle-related development activities.
• Ensure Moodle application security, including secure coding practices and compliance with departmental policies.
• Work collaboratively with administrators, IT teams, and business stakeholders to align development with business needs.

Key skill and experience

• Experience developing and customising Moodle applications using PHP, MySQL and JavaScript.
• Experience in integrating Moodle with other enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of Moodle architecture, APIs, and plugin development.
• Knowledge and experience of authentication and access management (SSO, MFA, IAM).

Preferred skill and experience

• Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, networking).
• Experience working in an enterprise education or government environment.
