Job Description: Civil Landscaper

Position Title: Civil Landscaper
Department: Construction / Landscaping
Reports To: Site Supervisor / Project Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Predominant South East Melbourne

Position Summary

The Civil Landscaper is responsible for the construction and delivery of landscaping works on civil and infrastructure projects. This includes both hard and soft landscaping tasks, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications, drawings, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret and work from landscape and civil construction plans

Perform earthworks and site preparation including grading and excavation

Install concrete elements such as paths, kerbs, and footings

Build retaining walls, edging, fencing, and other landscape structures

Carry out soft landscaping tasks such as turf installation, tree planting, mulching, and soil prep

Install irrigation systems and drainage infrastructure

Operate small machinery and tools (e.g., excavators, skid steers, compactors)

Work collaboratively with site teams, subcontractors, and supervisors

Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OH&S regulations

Perform quality checks and report progress to supervisors

Qualifications and Experience

2+ years experience in civil or structural landscaping (preferred)

Certificate III in Landscape Construction (desirable but not essential)

Construction White Card (mandatory)

Relevant plant and machinery tickets (e.g., Excavator, Skid Steer – advantageous)

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Valid driver’s licence and own transport
