$81,303 per annum (LGIA Stream B Level 6 + Site Allowance + Leading Hand Allowance 2) + Superannuation

Your new role
Are you ready to take the next step in your horticultural career and lead a dedicated team in maintaining and enhancing the beautiful open spaces of the Rockhampton Region?
As a Team Leader you will play a vital role in the day to day supervision of gardening and maintenance activities across public parks, gardens, and open spaces. You’ll ensure these areas are maintained to the highest standards, while supporting the delivery of horticultural and arboricultural projects that contribute to the region’s natural beauty and community wellbeing.
In this hands on leadership role, you’ll manage work schedules, oversee equipment servicing, and ensure compliance with safety procedures. You’ll also be responsible for pest and weed control, plant propagation, and contributing to landscape improvement plans.
To be successful in this role you will be required to have experience leading and motivating a team, have strong, clear, and effective communication skills, both verbal and written and have good time management, planning and organisational skills that will allow you to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
Experience in the fields of horticulture, park development and maintenance, irrigation installation and maintenance and machinery operations.
Proven experience in overseeing and organising work schedules and resources to ensure efficient completion of work at multiple locations.
Strong leadership qualities and supervisory skills with knowledge and experience in leading a team to success.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and a customer focused approach.
Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Application Criteria
Substantial demonstrated experience relevant to the position and Certificate III Horticulture (parks and gardens, landscaping, arboriculture, greenkeeping).
Leadership skills, excellent communication and a commitment to high service standards.
Ability to plan and coordinate work schedules across multiple sites, manage resources effectively, and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Working knowledge and experience of small plant, machines and tools including maintenance and servicing requirements whilst adhering to WHS procedures.
