Women’s Community Shelters is a network of shelters for homeless women and homeless women accompanied by children across NSW. We are recruiting for a Part Time Case Worker to work at our shelter in The Hills District, The Sanctuary.
The Case Worker will be expected to create a safe supportive and welcoming environment for women and children accessing our shelter and work collaboratively with the Sanctuary team to ensure that service users are engaged with appropriate supports.
Various shifts are available, with the ideal candidate available to work 20 hours per week. The role is available as a fixed term contract for 12 months.
Essential criteria:
Cert IV in Community Services or Minimum 5 years’ experience working with victims of domestic and family violence.
Demonstrated experience within the community services sector in a case worker capacity, preferably in Women’s services.
Knowledge of the dynamics and impact of family violence and abuse and how best to support survivors, including the impacts of trauma on children and young people.
An understanding of Workplace Health and Safety procedures.
Excellent written and communication skills
Ability to use online case management systems
Current Senior First Aid certificate or capacity to acquire one before commencement
Current Working with Children Check
Police Clearance Check
