About our Psychology Service
The Psychology Service, part of Allied Health Services, delivers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care to individuals facing physical health conditions alongside psychological and neuropsychological challenges. The service has four clinical workstreams: Acute; Rehabilitation and Complex Management; Women's, Newborn and Children's; and Older Persons. Operating across multiple hospital campuses, the psychology team works within and alongside multidisciplinary teams providing holistic psychological care tailored to diverse clinical needs.
About your new role
As a valued member of the Psychology Service, you will deliver high level evidence based neuropsychological and psychological services within a collaborative multidisciplinary framework including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation planning for patients with suspected brain injuries, neurological disorders and/or neuropsychological impairments. This includes:
- Participating in quality activities and research related to Neuropsychology, including actively implementing evidence based practice for improved client outcomes
- Provide clinical supervision to psychologists/neuropsychologists on placement from post-graduate clinical training programs and other psychologists as required
- Contributing a high level of neuropsychological consultation and ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals
Qualifications
- Tertiary degree in Psychology (or equivalent)
- Possession of post-graduate qualification/s
- Registration with AHPRA
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent Full time and Permanent Part Time (multiple positions, hours negotiable)
- Base salary ranging from $128 169 - $137 918 per annum or $64.64 - $69.55 per hour

There is now a consistent and monitored approach to crisis management planning, supporting patients to manage crisis situations and potentially avoiding unnecessary presentations to the emergency department.
The Falls and Balance Clinic, in partnership with general practitioners, has reduced the rate of falls among high-risk older adults with a 92 per cent reduction in falls between the initial appointment and review, thereby reducing hospital and emergency department admissions.
Oral health waiting times for general dental assessment have been reduced by almost 50 per cent in less than 12 months.
Planning for the Southport Health Precinct is underway, with a range of outpatient and community based services expected to move into refurbished buildings in 2014.
