BRAG Education and Development Officer
$85,560 - $92,990 per annum + Superannuation
Fulltime permanent position
At the City of Bunbury, we’re proud to be home to one of Western Australia’s most vibrant cultural spaces—the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery (BRAG). Our passionate team fosters creativity, inclusion, and learning through world-class exhibitions, public events, and community engagement.
About the Role
As the Education and Development Officer at BRAG, you’ll play a key role in shaping how the Gallery connects with children, young people, educators, and diverse community groups through innovative education and public programs.
You’ll lead the development, funding, coordination, and delivery of engaging programs that are aligned with BRAG’s vision and strategy—ensuring that the gallery remains an accessible, inclusive, and enriching space for everyone.
You’ll be responsible for:
Designing and delivering public programs and education initiatives for a wide range of audiences
Managing artists, tutors, and volunteers involved in workshops, residencies, and events
Securing sponsorships and preparing grant applications to fund new initiatives
Coordinate exhibitions such as the annual Visions Secondary Schools Exhibition.
Overseeing event logistics, budgets, schedules, and artist contracts that relate to educational programs.
Evaluating programs and capturing insights to inform future improvements
Building networks with schools, arts organisations, funders, and community partners
Contributing to exhibition planning and gallery events as required
About You
You’re passionate about the power of art to educate, connect, and inspire. You’re as comfortable writing a grant application or building a program budget as you are welcoming a busload of excited students or leading a guided gallery tour.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
Experience working in arts, education, or a related field.
Knowledge of arts education, public programs, and community cultural development
Experience managing artists, volunteers, and creative projects
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to planning and delivery
Proven ability to secure and manage sponsorships and grant funding
A proactive, inclusive, and people-focused mindset
