This is not a replacement, both Farm and Garden and REO will continue to operate as usual. The creation of Down 2 Earth Equipment is about enhancing our support for construction and heavy machinery clients, while continuing to serve our agricultural and small equipment customers with the same attention and care you’ve always known.

Over recent years, we’ve seen growing demand for construction and civil gear through Farm and Garden, and increased servicing needs across the REO customer base. It made sense to bring our collective experience together and create a focused extension of what we do without changing what already works.

Down 2 Earth Equipment allows us to:

Provide more tailored support for construction, civil and commercial customers

Expand our range of machinery to include Develon (formerly Doosan) earthmoving equipment

Grow our Bobcat lineup – including skid steers, tractors, mowers, side-by-sides, and a wide range of attachments

Offer the full McCormick tractor range for our agricultural clients

Deliver the same trusted servicing and parts access across all brands and equipment types

With this exciting new chapter, we are looking for a skilled Heavy Diesel Fitter to join the team and help drive our capabilities forward.

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our growing team. The successful applicant will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, servicing, and repair of diesel-powered machinery, including tractors, loaders, and heavy earthmoving equipment. This role requires a self-motivated, safety-conscious professional with strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.

Key Responsibilities

Perform servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs on a wide range of heavy diesel equipment and machinery.

Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections.

Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work carried out.

Assist with pre-delivery setups and final testing of new equipment.

Operate workshop tools and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.

Ensure compliance with WHS standards and company safety procedures.

Work both independently and collaboratively with other team members.

Occasionally assist with field service work as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter (Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent)

Minimum 3 years of post-trade experience preferred

Experience with agricultural or earthmoving equipment (tractors, loaders, etc.)

Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems

Current manual driver’s licence (HR licence desirable but not essential)

Forklift and/or high-risk work licences (desirable but not essential)

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

Commitment to safe work practices and procedures
